Vintage Angela Cummings for Tiffany Earrings

Angela Cummings, one of the foremost fine jewelry designers of our time, launched her first collection at Tiffany in 1975, using mostly 18k gold with semi-precious stones like lapis, jade, mother of pearl, with themes that embraced the beauty of Nature. While steeped in classical training, Cummings broke the rules of traditional upscale jewelry making and in 1984 opened boutiques carrying her own name.
These earrings are from her early days designing at Tiffany where she was not allowed to sign her creations. Known for her expert inlay work as well as her innovative mix of materials, earlier works for Tiffany like these black jade and eighteen carat gold Celtic Love Knot earrings are both collectible and wearable in the most modern ways.
Cummings retired in 2003. Her inlaid jewelry, particularly that in black jade is sought-after and highly collectible.
