The Restoration and Expansion Project of 2023 was the culmination of years of planning, fundraising, and a lot of hard work. The result responds to the decades-long need for expanded and improved space for the patrons and staff of the Hotchkiss Library of Sharon. We could not be happier with the results and hope you feel the same way! Your library is now accessible, brighter, and more spacious and efficient. You will find two new accessible restrooms; the Hayes Family Community Room (used for children’s and adult programming and also available to outside groups for meetings); the Buckley Family Conference Room; and the Ross Family Digital Workroom. The staff has a new circulation area and office space, freeing up the historic areas for our patrons. You will find several options for quiet workspace and an inviting new children’s library. A new terrace and enhanced outdoor space invite quiet reading and active play. All these new features have allowed us to expand our programming for all ages. This is your library.
