Circulation Policies

  • New Fiction and New Nonfiction circulates for 14 days.
  • Main Collection materials circulate for 3 weeks.
  • DVDs circulate for 7 days.
  • Audiobooks, including Circuit Audios, circulate 3 weeks.
  • Materials not available at The Hotchkiss Library of Sharon may be requested through interlibrary loan.

Your Library Card

Anyone who is a Sharon resident or taxpayer is eligible for a Hotchkiss Library card, which is valid for three years. Hotchkiss Library patrons may use their card at other Connecticut libraries. There is no age restriction. We do issue cards to children when parents feel their child is responsible enough to have one.  Visit the Library or register online at: https://hotchkiss.biblio.org/eg/opac/register

Fines & Renewals

We do not charge overdue fines.

You can renew your library items through your online Bibliomation account or by calling the library.

All patrons who take out items are responsible for those items and if they are returned damaged or lost, patrons will be expected to pay for replacements.
